The UK is at a crossroads
Commenting on the need for a just transition to net zero, Lib Dem Councillor Sally Pattle said:
"We are so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful green space in West Lothian and I feel the benefit of it every time I'm out with my dog. But our green spaces and our waterways are under threat from poor planning systems and poorly monitored polluters, including water companies.
Astonishingly, here in Scotland the Greens care more about the single issue of independence than they do about the environment. Only the Liberal Democrats are prioritising how we can protect our environment and our economy with a just transition to net zero.
The Bathgate and Linlithgow constituency borders Grangemouth - a hugely important site in terms of manufacture, fuel supply and, of course, highly skilled jobs. The UK is at a crossroads: it is vital we put Grangemouth at the heart of our plans to move towards net zero with a just transition, so we can guarantee prosperity and protect our natural environment for future generations."
