Sally Pattle - Let’s lift everyone out of poverty

Here in West Lothian, almost a quarter of children live in poverty and recent figures reveal that number is rising. Our number one priority is to lift every child out of poverty, and ensure their future is full of possibilities.

“Education is key,” says Sally Pattle, Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Linlithgow. Sally is already a literacy champion, having worked with schools in West Lothian for years. She has seen first-hand how life changing it can be for children to have access to their own books, and she will continue to work on closing the attainment gap, a crucial means of lifting families out of poverty.

“We also need to focus on rebuilding our mental health services and ensure that support for those battling addiction is freely available to all,” says Sally. “Drug deaths in Scotland are at a critical level following years of cuts to health services and we are heading towards a mental health crisis if we don’t take action now.”
